Well, It has been a few weeks since my last post, but I just feel like I have been so busy! I can't play around on the Internet like I could my last job. In fact, I can't even check my email! I don't even watch my weekly shows anymore! Anyways, a couple of updates:
I still really like my job. I got my first pay check, which I liked even more!!
The pictures below, I took last Monday on my day off. I woke up and it was the clearest day in Seattle since I came here. I drove to West Seattle (which is like 10 minutes away) to take some pictures for all of those who have never been to WA. It only took my about an hour to get there. I guess I should have googled it before trying to venture out! The pictures don't do justice being that they shrunk to the size of a peanut after trying to post them, but anyway it was really pretty!
I booked a short trip home for my birthday on March 13 - 16. I am planning on going out to dinner with my parents on Friday, March 14Th to celebrate my dad and my birthday (same day - March 14) and then head up to the good old InnKahoots! I hope everyone can join us up there for the festivities! I mean...who wouldn't want to spend their birthday at InnKahoots??
I am also super excited because I am going to Vegas for the first time in May for my friend Ananda and Elias's Wedding. I went dress shopping at Davids Bridal on Saturday and got my bridesmaid dress - which is SUPER cute!
On Sunday, I helped Carley build a computer. (okay so she just told me what to do!) It was pretty cool though. She explained the "components" of the computer in my language. "THIS IS KINDA LIKE THE BRAIN, AND THEN IT GOES HERE WHICH IS LIKE THE HIGHWAY, ETC" Then it got to the wiring it all and then I had enough!
It snowed last night...umm like maybe an inch! The whole city stopped and only 4 people made it to work. When I got into my car this morning it was 33 degrees - not even that cold! But they don't have plows and the hills are really what makes it hard to drive. When I walk to work everyday from the ramp, I have to walk up what in MN we would call a "bunny hill or even a green" in skiing terms. It isn't so bad, but it can be a bitch going back down in high heels!!
Other news....I GOT A WASHINGTON STATE LICENSE PLATE TODAY!! It has a mountain on it and I like it!!!
I am feeling pretty good about myself here. Maybe it is the fact that I don't eat a lot of meat (oh- and I will never eat salami again!!! GROSS! BAD EXPERIENCE!!!) Or maybe it is the fact that Carley and Megan have me being super environmentally friendly - I have my own bag when I go to the grocery store so I don't use plastic bags! But at the end of the day, it feels better knowing you did something better for the environment. EVERYONE SHOULD TRY IT!! I have gotten quotes and hopefully this week will be joining the gym. Maybe I feel better because I was so scared of the unknown and am now living the unknown and realizing it isn't soooo scary! Or maybe...It is just that time heals and you start to feel better!

Update
Well, a little update....
Okay, so it went something like this, after a VERY busy first week of work;
I got to work. I was the first person in the office and I opened my email. And then....there it was. Bank of America had bought Countrywide. At first I was like, SHIT...Somebody else better get here, because people are going to start calling asking what the hell is going on. Everyone in the office was shocked it was happening and I didn't know...I am the new girl, leave me out of this. But then, I was started to get a little nervous. I am a week and one day into my job, and do I need to be worried??? So, I spent half the day in and out of conference calls and as of right now, I am safe. The merger will not happen until Q3 at the earliest, and they say there will be no changes until Jan. 09. (so, I hope I am good for at least a year!) Right when I find the best job!!! Remember....Life is full of curves!
I also hit a some what (okay - not really!) road block when last week, I got a flat tire! This was not only a flat tire(well it was), but here is the story. Second day driving to work and not taking the bus. I worked a little late and Carley and Megan called to say they were waiting at the bus. So, I told them I would give them a ride. They walked to my work, which is only 2-3 blocks. We go and get my car and drive off. Then, this girl is knocking on her window and Megan and I look at her. I think Megan was like, "Is my scarf hanging out of the car?" To which the girl replied...."Your tire is completely flat!" SOB - It is 5:30 and we are downtown SEATTLE. It is not like you are in Albertville, Plymouth or Hamel and can just pull over to the side of the road!!! Pulled in a parking lot, which Carley guided me to, and I called AAA. (thank god for AAA) We were back on the road again within 30 minutes and I felt super bad that they didn't take the bus, but was also really greatful that they were with me. I handled the situation well and wasn't to upset. (It was JUST A TIRE- RIGHT) DON'T GET MAD AT THE SMALL THINGS IN LIFE!
I do have to admit - I did get a "little" cranky when I had to sit at Firestone on Sunday for like 3 hours. They told me my car was done after like an hour, but I was blocked in by a car that was jacked up, so I had to wait! Not only that, but my tire was not replaceable and I had to buy a new one! My crankiness only lasted about an hour!!
I went out both Friday, Saturday and Saturday night without Megan and Carley. I have made some friends! Yeah! Damn SEAHAWKS though! They lost on Saturday to the PACKERS! I hate the Packers! We went bowling on Sunday, which I need to work on. The lanes just aren't the same here! I don't know if it is the oil or the beer????
Having a good time, like the job, and things are going good.
PS. It is really bad to work in Mortgages! Now, all I think about is what I need to do or save to buy my own house!
Miss Everyone!! I am hopefully trying to have a short 3 day visit in March over my B-day!

Love it!
So, I was really nervous to start a new job, especially for not having been working in 2 months. But, I actually love it and think it is going to be really great! I have a lot more responsibility and think it will continue to increase as time goes on. Nothing has been too overwhelming and I am confident I will be able to handle it! Things are starting to look brighter! Yeah! I find myself thinking about the job(actual title - Office Administrative Coordinator, like an office manager) and my life and I am able to smile. I am doing, achieving things that I would have never thought were possible and I know that I can get a place here on my own and be able to financially support myself! It is a great feeling, especially when in the last 4 years I was told I couldn't support myself!
I would also like to take the time here and tell you all how very grateful I am of Carley and Megan! They have been so great to me, and in all of this so far the #1 thing I have learned is - Don't take people for granted. They have opened their house to me, made me feel very comfortable, taking me to countless dinners and drinks, driven me around, and have kept me busy on weekends! They made (and went overboard) on Christmas for me, have emotionally supported me, and so on.... I thank them and there is no words/or money to express my gratitude! They are the best! I really enjoy hanging out with them and now even when I move out, they will have a hard time getting rid of me! :-) For those who do not know Carley and Megan, you are missing out and it would be an honor for you to meet them! Maybe you need to come visit!!!
